Courses

GLC SHOOTING ACADEMY offers a wide variety of classes in many different formats. Classes consist of 1 to 2 full days of training. Individual Instruction, Private Groups, and Custom/Private training options are available. Contact us for details.

Standard Class Requirements:

• Semi-automatic Pistol or Revolver with strong side belt holster.
(No shoulder or leg holsters)
• Minimum of 3 magazines and at least 2 magazine carriers. 6 magazines are better!
• 500 – 800 Rounds of Ammunition
• Hearing and Eye Protection
• Proper Weather Related Clothing
• Water/Sports Drinks & Snacks

Pistol I – Basics of Shooting
1 Day Cours- Learn the basics of shooting. This is a beginners course. This will cover basics of shooting including but not limited to: function training of the weapon, loading and unloading the weapon,  grip, aligning the sights, proper trigger pull etc. This class is limited to 1-2 students for ultimate safety in the very beginning stages of learning how to operate a firearm for the first or second time. Approximately 100-150 rounds.

Pistol II – Learning How To Be Competitive & Practice Effectively
2 Day Course – Learn how to practice effectively (saving time & money) and develop skills for lower, more competitive stage times. Learn how the use of proper footwork, stage strategies and effective practice techniques will reduce your overall time while increasing accuracy. Understand the “math” behind different shooting sports and reduce your overall time. Class includes a shooter’s notebook on how to practice and is suited for shooter of any level who have shot IDPA or USPSA style matches.
Approximately 800 – 1,000 rounds of ammunition required.

Pistol III – Advanced
Putting It All Together

This two day class will focus on fine tuning your stage analysis, building your mental game, and how to prepare for a match. This class is a must for all serious competitors. Stages will be utilized to fine tune individual movement and stage analysis of different courses of fire. Developing your mental game leads to shooting consistently stage to stage. Consistency wins matches. Learn the secrets of how to stay mentally and physically in control during your match. Be prepared before the match. Checklists and tips on getting ready before match day will be covered.
